Touring car driver hopes for record fifth title

The leader of the British Touring Car Championship said it was "surreal" to potentially wrap up his fifth title at Silverstone - something no driver has done before.

Ash Sutton drives from the Northampton-based NAPA Racing UK and is leading by 115 points in the 2026 campaign.

The race at the Northamptonshire circuit is the penultimate round of the championship which sees modified production cars, such as a Ford Focus, Audi A3 or Toyota Corolla, competing.

Sutton said the lead in the championship was "a great place to be for me and the team to be, heading to Silverstone with an opportunity to wrap this up".

The 32-year-old, from Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, began karting in 2000, and competed in his first British Touring Car Championship in 2016.
