Dharmendra Pradhan, in a post on X on Saturday (July 25, 2026), announced that he has tendered his resignation from the post of Union Education Minister. Mr. Pradhan’s resignation comes amid Cockroach Janta Party-led protests at the Jantar Mantar, demanding his accountability over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak and irregularities in the CBSE’s on-screen marking process, besides seeking wider reforms in the conduct of public examinations.
In a joint press conference with CJP spokespersons Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka, and Union Minister J.P. Nadda and MoS Jitendra Singh, Mr. Das says that “All FIRs filed against protesters all over the country will be withdrawn; the government has assured us.” “Government has agreed to give an honorary compensation to the kin of students who ended their lives,” Mr. Ranka says. CJP spokesperson Saurav Das says that “the CJP declares that we withdraw the strike”.
