The first sign this isn’t an ordinary festival comes when my Italian greyhound Nala passes the height check and climbs aboard the Ferris wheel. We rise above the candy-coloured floral sea; my dog’s ears perk, flop, and aeroplane with every spin. Riding a Ferris wheel with a nosey four-legged passenger offers me a completely new perspective on Toowoomba’s Carnival of Flowers.
