Tomorrow’s Leaders Program 2027-2028: Undergraduate Scholarships for Students from the Middle East and North Africa

The U.S. Department of State has opened applications for the 2027-2028 Tomorrow’s Leaders Program, offering undergraduate scholarships to students in the Middle East and North Africa. The program aims to foster leadership skills through American-style education at partner universities in Lebanon.
Why it matters
This initiative represents a significant soft-power investment by the U.S. in regional educational development and future leadership in the MENA region.
Applications are now open for the Tomorrow’s Leaders Program (TLP) 2027–2028, a scholarship and leadership development initiative sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI). The programme supports talented and highly motivated students from eligible Middle East and North Africa (MENA) countries who want to pursue undergraduate studies and develop the skills needed to become future leaders.
Through partnerships with the American University of Beirut (AUB) and the Lebanese American University (LAU), the programme provides access to American-style higher education in the region, alongside leadership training and opportunities to build professional networks.
The initiative aims to prepare participants for leadership roles at local, national and regional levels. Graduates also join an alumni network of more than 1,900 former participants working across the MENA region.
