Retired Director General of Police (DGP) Tomin J. Thachankary, convicted by the Vigilance Court in Kottayam in a disproportionate assets case, was shifted to the hospital block of the Poojappura Central Prison on Friday after complaining of uneasiness.

He was brought to the central prison on Thursday night, shortly after the verdict was delivered. Following medical examination, it was decided that the former police officer would be kept under observation at the hospital block.

According to sources, Mr. Thachankary’s health condition remains stable, with the present scenario not necessitating his shifting to the General Hospital or the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital.
