LUCKNOW: At least 81 people have lost their lives, and 62 others have been injured so far as incessant rain battered large parts of Uttar Pradesh between Sept 25 and Sept 27, causing widespread destruction across the state.The state has also recorded the deaths of 154 animals, while damage to crops is still being assessed.According to a situation report prepared by UP Relief Commissioner Hrishikesh Bhaskar Yashod’s office, Sitapur was the worst-affected district in terms of fatalities, reporting seven deaths. Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich and Balrampur recorded five deaths each, while Ayodhya, Maharajganj and Gorakhpur reported four fatalities each.Among the injured, Hardoi reported the highest number of injuries at seven, followed by Mainpuri and Shravasti with five each.
