The death toll in the recent fire accident in a tea shop in Perambalur following a leak from a cylinder has now risen to five with one of the injured succumbing at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital at Tiruchi on Wednesday.

Police gave the name of the fifth deceased as Bhuvaneswari. Seven others are undergoing treatment in different hospitals, said police sources.
