A three-year-old toddler died after being run over by a tempo traveller at the Kumbichal Kadavu Bridge in Amboori on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Rithuveda, a native of Kuttiyanikadu. According to the police, the tempo traveller had been parked on the bridge while a group of passengers got down. The vehicle allegedly moved ahead due to a suspected malfunctioning of the handbrake. The child as well as her mother Nisha were injured in the accident. Though they were rushed to a private hospital near Kattakada, the child's life could not be saved.
