TNSTC’s one-day tour to 11 Srivaishnava Divya Desam temples to be launched on October 3 in Kumbakonam

The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation is launching a new one-day pilgrimage tour package covering 14 Srivaishnava Divya Desam temples starting October 3. This service follows the success of previous temple tour packages covering Navagraha and Murugan shrines in the delta region.
Why it matters
State-run transport initiatives are increasingly diversifying into religious tourism to boost revenue and provide affordable travel options for devotees.
The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, Kumbakonam Division, is all set to launch its third delta temple tour package on October 3 with Agriculture Minister R. Vinoth flagging off the new temple tour package service from Kumbakonam bus stand.
The Corporation introduced its first delta temple tour package in 2024 covering all the nine Navagraha temples located in the delta districts. As it received good response, it launched a weekend (Saturday and Sunday) one-day ‘Murugan Thiruthalam’ package tour subsequently, covering six abodes of Lord Muruga – Swamimalai, Eragaram, Enkan, Ettukudi, Poravacheri and Sikkal, in the Delta region.
