TNPL organisers promise better pitches, exciting contests

Organizers of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) have promised to provide more batting-friendly pitches for the upcoming 10th season to encourage high-scoring matches. The move aims to help young batters showcase their skills more effectively as the league seeks to maintain its status as a talent pipeline for the IPL.
Why it matters
Improving pitch quality is essential for the development of T20 talent and the commercial appeal of regional cricket leagues.
As the TNPL gears up for a milestone season this year with the 10th edition set to get underway from August 4 in Dindigul, the organisers have promised better pitches to ensure the action on the field is exciting.
The TNPL has helped unearth promising talents from the state to play for IPL franchises and even the country, with the likes of T. Natarajan, Varun Chakaravarthy and B. Sai Sudharsan, to name a few.
However, in recent times, that pipeline has started to dry out a bit, and one reason has been that the low-scoring pitches in the TNPL have not helped batters show their wares at a time when competition from other states has increased.
