TNAU spreads awareness on ways to control invasive weed parthenium
Tamil Nadu Agricultural University is conducting an awareness campaign to educate farmers and students on managing the invasive Parthenium weed. The program covers cultural, chemical, and biological control methods to mitigate the plant's negative impact on health and crop yields.

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore, with sponsorship from the Directorate of Weed Research, ICAR-Jabalpur, conducted an awareness programme on parthenium (an invasive weed) management for farm workers on its premises, on Monday (August 17).
As part of the Parthenium Awareness Week, initiated on Sunday under the aegis of All India Coordinated Research Programme on Weed Management, TNAU’s Department of Agronomy envisages spreading awareness on the ill-effects of parthenium and its management among school and college students, sanitary workers, and farm labourers among others.
