Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday virtually launched development projects worth ₹3,222 crore to transform Tirupati into a world-class spiritual destination, with a focus on pilgrim amenities, modern infrastructure and environmental sustainability.
The centrepiece of the initiative is an integrated pilgrim township near the Alipiri–SV Zoo Park Road, envisaged as a one-stop facility providing accommodation, annaprasadam, transport, parking, healthcare, security and digital information services.
The township will have 2,700 rooms across four 10-storey blocks at a cost of ₹1,332 crore, accommodating around 15,000 pilgrims daily. An annaprasadam centre, capable of serving 6,000 devotees at a time, will be built at ₹160 crore. Multi-level parking for 4,500 vehicles and an integrated transport terminal with 30 bus bays will be developed at ₹311 crore and ₹90 crore, respectively. A Pilgrim Experience Centre showcasing the history and traditions of the Srivari temple is also planned.
