Tirunelveli reader’s mail

A reader's letter highlights local infrastructure issues in Tirunelveli, including water pipeline leaks and the need for a foot over-bridge for pedestrian safety. The letter also requests stricter noise regulation during upcoming religious festivals.
Why it matters
It reflects common civic grievances and the importance of local government responsiveness to public infrastructure and safety concerns.
In KTC Nagar, on the service road which runs just in front of JJ Ceramics shop, a drinking water pipeline has been damaged for more than 10 days, resulting in wastage of water into the nearby land. The authorities concerned must take necessary action to immediately repair the pipeline.
The drinking water line leading to Arockiyanathapuram is in a leaky condition in the front side of the bus shelter at V.M. Chatram. Due to this, drinking water is stagnated in the surrounding area of the bus shelter, making it difficult for passengers to board the bus. The leaked water is being drained into the existing drain. As the area is already facing acute water scarcity, the corporation authorities are requested to rectify the defect.
