Member of Parliament C. Robert Bruce has appealed to the Tamil Nadu Government to release sufficient funds for streamlining power and drinking water supply to the rural parts of the district.

The MP has also sought funds for the construction of a mini reservoir near Kalakad for storing the water now going waste and strengthening of an irrigation tank.

In a memorandum submitted to Minister for Rural Development and Water Resources N. Anand recently, Mr. Robert Bruce said the frequent and prolonged power cut in Kotaivilaipatti, Mudhaliyarpatti, Kondapaiyanpatti and Vadamalaisamudhram, all in ward 1, and Vadakku Agasthiyarpuram in ward 9 of Vickramasingpauram municipality was irking the residents for the past several months due to poor electricity distribution infrastructure.

Hence, funds should be released for providing uninterrupted power supply by connecting these areas with urban feeder lines instead of the rural feeder lines.
