Tirumala to witness two Brahmotsavams this year

The Tirumala temple will host two Brahmotsavams this year due to the occurrence of an 'adhikamasam' in the lunar calendar. The temple administration is preparing for large crowds during the Salakatla and Navaratri festivals.
Why it matters
These festivals are major cultural and religious events that attract significant pilgrim traffic, requiring extensive logistical management.
The hill temple of Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala is scheduled to witness two Brahmotsavams during the year owing to ‘adhikamasam’.
While the annual Salakatla Brahmotsavams will be held from September 15 to 23, the Navaratri Brahmotsavams are scheduled to be organised from October 12 to 20.
The nine-day Salakatla Brahmotsavams will commence with ‘Ankurarpanam’ on the evening of September 14. During the period, Vahana Sevas will be held twice daily between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. and 9 p.m., alongside the regular mandatory rituals.
The festivities will begin with ‘Dwajarohanam’ on September 15 evening, followed by ‘Pedda Sesha Vahanam’ at 9 p.m. the same night marking the first vahan seva.
