Tiruchi District Siddha hospital’s infertility treatment finds many takers

Infertility treatment being offered at the District Headquarters Siddha Hospital, functioning at Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital (MGMGH) complex in Tiruchi, has found many takers in the city.
A special outpatient (OP) clinic is held twice a week, where traditional Siddha methods using abdominal pack, external varma, oil massage, and medicated oil infusions are administered to aspiring parents after a detailed evaluation.
“Many people often come here after they have tried other conventional treatments and failed. We prescribe lifestyle changes, yoga exercises, and specially formulated medicines for each patient. Depending on the patient’s physical condition, it can take from two to eight months for the treatment to be effective. We get many women close to their menopausal age, in the late 30s and early 40s, who have been trying to conceive through other methods,” K. Sangeetha, infertility specialist at hospital, told The Hindu.
