The Tiruchi City Police have issued a set of instructions and guidelines for the installation of idols of Lord Vinayaka at designated spots in the city in connection with the forthcoming Vinayaka Chathurthi festival that is to be celebrated on September 14 (Monday).
The instructions and guidelines were conveyed during a meeting with the members of the organisers planning to install the idols. The meeting was presided over by the Commissioner of Police, Tiruchi N. Kamini. The procession of idols installed in the city for immersion in the Cauvery river is scheduled on September 16.
