Tiger Nandu euthanised at Thrissur Zoological Park in Keralam
A male tiger named Nandu was euthanized at Thrissur Zoological Park after suffering from terminal oral cancer. Veterinary experts determined that the animal was in severe pain with no chance of recovery.

‘Nandu’, a male tiger under treatment at the Thrissur Zoological Park at Puthur, was euthanised following the worsening of oral cancer.
Nandu had been rescued from Wayanad and brought to the zoological park for care. He was diagnosed with cancer in the mouth and had been undergoing treatment under the supervision of veterinary specialists.
Despite treatment, his condition deteriorated, leaving the tiger unable to eat. Considering the severe pain caused by the disease and the veterinary experts’ assessment that there was no realistic possibility of recovery, euthanasia was carried out under the orders of the Chief Wildlife Warden.
