Forest teams tracking the animal identified its movement near Udatapalli village in the Papikonda forests and in tribal habitations around the Polavaram project area.

Forest officials advised villagers not to venture into the forests to collect firewood or go to agricultural fields after dark. They also asked residents to remain indoors during the night, not to send children outside and ensure adequate lighting at cattle sheds.
