The husband of missing Australian mother Reshma Patel says he has not given up hope she will be found alive, as he calls for better coordination in rescue efforts on the Nepal-Tibet border.

Bhavin Patel has flown to Nepal to search for his wife, who has been out of contact since the disaster.

“I feel so helpless — I just want some help to bring Reshma back home,” he told the ABC.

She was one of 11 Australians who were part of a group that had just completed a pilgrimage to Mount Kailash with the Isha Foundation.

The group’s last known location was at the immigration office at the Tibet-Nepal border, shortly before the disaster struck.
