Thunderstorms and heavy rain forecast for 11 states until 5pm

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds across 11 states, effective until 5pm on Sunday (Oct 11).
In Peninsular Malaysia, the afternoon weather alert covers the entire state of Perlis and Melaka. In Kedah, storms are expected in Sik, Baling, Padang Terap, Pokok Sena, Kubang Pasu and Pendang, while Perak is affected in Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim.
In Kelantan, severe weather is forecast for Jeli, Tanah Merah, Pasir Mas, Tumpat, Machang and Kuala Krai, while Setiu and Besut are affected in Terengganu. In Pahang, the warning covers Cameron Highlands, Raub, Bentong and Lipis.
In the central and southern regions, the alert affects Hulu Selangor in Selangor; Kuala Pilah, Tampin, Rembau and Jelebu in Negeri Sembilan; and Kluang, Kulai, Johor Bahru, Pontian, Batu Pahat, Muar, Tangkak and Kota Tinggi in Johor.
