Three youths arrested for possession of narcotic tablets in Arakkonam

Three youths from Chennai were arrested in Arakkonam for possessing 113 narcotic tablets. Police discovered the suspects had ordered the drugs from Mumbai pharmacies to sell them in Chennai.

Three youths were arrested by Arakkonam Town police for possession of 113 narcotic tablets (Tapentadol) near a railway station in Arakkonam on Wednesday.
The police said the arrested persons were identified as S. Ramkumar, 26, V. Udaya Sankar, 19, and K. Vijay, 20. They are residents of Chennai. Initial inquiry revealed that based on a tip-off to Ranipet SP P. Sibin, special teams were formed to conduct surprise checks in public places such as bus terminii, railway stations, and isolated buildings in the district.
During one of these checks. a police team intercepted three suspects near the railway station. They checked the trio’s bags and found narcotic tablets in them. Investigation found that the gang had placed an order for tablets with pharmacies in Mumbai. The tablets were sent by couriers to them.
