Three women were killed and several passengers injured when a vehicle they were travelling in crashed into an electricity pole near Madnal village in Shahapur taluk of Yadgir district on Sunday.
The deceased have been identified as 25-year-old Soubhagya, 18-year-old Honna Ningavva and 35-year-old Satyavva, all residents of Madnal village.
According to sources, the accident occurred when the driver lost control of the vehicle causing it to ram the electricity pole.
The impact killed the three women on the spot and left several passengers with injuries. The injured were immediately rushed to a nearby local hospital for medical treatment.
