Three persons were arrested in Sevvur village on Saturday for possession of 1.25 kilograms of ganja that was reportedly meant for retail sale in the area.

The police said the arrested persons were Y. Kader Basha, 21, M. Bashir Riaz, 33, and K. Abilesh, 28. They were residents of Gudiyatham.

The police said that as part of surveillance, a police team was patrolling the check post in the village when they intercepted a trio, who were coming in two-wheelers. Upon checking the vehicle, the team found contraband.
