Three nabbed from Kozhikode after alleged road rage assault in Kochi

The Thrikkakara police have arrested three men for allegedly assaulting three youths following a road rage incident near NGO Quarters Junction in Kakkanad in the early hours of Sunday.
Those arrested are Shafin P.J., 30, of Kalamassery; Vibeesh. M., 26, of Chevary, Kozhikode; and Fahad Nadakkal, 31, of Aluva. They were nabbed from a hideout in Kozhikode, police sources said. Both Mr. Shafin and Mr. Vibeesh are history-sheeters with multiple cases of a similar nature registered against them, the police said.
The trio, suspected to be associated with a Perumbavoor-based goon, were arrested even as one of the victims, who suffered a severe head injury, remained in critical condition.
The alleged incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Sunday when Praveen Kumar and his friends Mohammad Shafi and Nizam, all residents of Vazhakkala in Kochi, were returning home after attending a function.
