Three more lake development projects nearing completion
The Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) is nearing completion of restoration projects for three major lakes in Hyderabad. These efforts involve removing encroachments, clearing waste, and developing public recreational spaces.

Developmental works pertaining to three more lakes undertaken by the Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) are nearing completion in the city.
Of these, the Sunnam Cheruvu Lake at Guttala Begumpet closer to Ayyappa Society is set for inauguration, reportedly by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, by the end of September.
A statement from HYDRAA informed that the lake had been a 13-acre sewage/garbage dump earlier, with the rest of the area encroached. It has been now expanded to its original extent of 30 acres.
The statement also mentioned earlier thwarted attempts to draw ground water from the lake bed to be supplied to hostels, schools and colleges. When the water samples were tested, they revealed higher concentration of heavy metals.
