The police on Thursday arrested three students in connection with the murder of a private engineering college student at Othakalmandapam near Coimbatore on August 10, taking the total number of persons held in the case to nine.

K. Sriram (21) Harish Pandian (20) and Lalith Aditya (20), all hailing from Madurai, were arrested for the murder of K. Amuthan (19) of Kallakurichi, a third-year undergraduate student of Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology.

The police said that Sriram belonged to Hindusthan College and the two others are second year B.Sc. Computer Science students of JCT College.
