Three migrant workers held for assaulting policeman

Three migrant workers were arrested by Thennilai police for assaulting a police constable who questioned them for drinking in public. Two other suspects involved in the incident remain at large.

Thennilai police on Friday arrested three migrant workers belonging to Odisha for assaulting a policeman.
According to sources, Ganesan, the police constable attached to Thennilai police station went for patrolling on his two-wheeler on Thursday night. He questioned a group of five persons consuming alcohol in an open place near a Tasmac outlet. They reportedly assaulted the policeman in inebriated condition and took away his two-wheeler.
Based on a complaint by Ganesan, police arrested Gudakesh Naik, 25, Sahadev Barik, 25, and Ravinder Kadiya, 24. Two more persons are absconding.
