In a tragic incident, three persons, including a young advocate, who were riding a two-wheeler were killed when a speeding car hit the bike from behind near Tirupachethi toll plaza in Sivaganga district on Thursday.
Police said advocate Pandiarajan, 32, of Vadakarai in Tiruppuvanam was travelling on a two-wheeler with two of his friends — Sibi Chakravarthi, 28, and Venkatesan, 27 — riding pilion. The trio were returning home from Kaanur.
When they were approaching the toll plaza, a speeding car, proceeding from Salaigramam towards Madurai, hit the two-wheeler from behind. In the impact, all the three riders were thrown off the bike, and died on the spot.
