Three senior investigators from the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) have been placed on suspension pending disciplinary action.

IDAC chief investigator Dylan Perumal, senior investigator Brian Padayachee, and investigator Sunil Belochan have been suspended by the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mmamoloko Kubayi, and the National Director of Public Prosecutions, Advocate Andy Mothibi.

Kubayi confirmed that she had placed Perumal on suspension pending disciplinary action, while Padayachee and Belochan were placed on suspension by Mothibi.

“The NDPP has started a disciplinary process within his purview against people who have been found wanting within IDAC,” she said during a media briefing in Pretoria on Thursday.

Kubayi said this was part of a reset project for the directorate following revelations made at the Madlanga Commission.
