The Perur police have arrested three persons for allegedly assaulting a man at a restaurant on Siruvani Road in Coimbatore district.

According to the police, Gokulakrishnan (26) of Indira Colony visited a restaurant at Perur Pachapalayam on Siruvani Road on Wednesday night to enquire about job opportunities there.

Karthi (27), Kumar (34) and Mathivannan (28), all from places in and around Perur, were having food at the restaurant. They called Gokulakrishnan to place an order, believing him to be a restaurant staffer.

The trio, who were allegedly under the influence of alcohol, picked up a quarrel with Gokulakrishnan as he refused to take orders.
