Three establishments fined for dumping waste in public places

The Nagercoil Corporation has fined three establishments for illegal waste dumping in public areas. Officials have issued a stern warning that strict enforcement will continue to ensure proper waste segregation.

Nagercoil Corporation on Saturday imposed a total fine of ₹15,000 on two medical establishments for dumping waste at a public place near Head Post Office in Nagercoil.
According to a Corporation official, an online complaint was received regarding the dumping of waste, including wrappers, papers and other materials by the medical establishments. Following the complaint, Corporation officials conducted an inspection and found that two medical establishments from the locality had dumped the waste.
A total final amount of ₹15,000 was imposed on the two medical establishments.
In a separate incident, a private organisation was fined ₹20,000 for dumping waste in the public place in Thammathukonam. The areas where garbage had been dumped was subsequently cleaned and a warning was issued.
