The tourism department has launched a three-day kite festival in Kanniyakumari on Friday, offering a spectacular aerial display for tourists and residents.
The first day of the festival was held at the sunset point in Kanniyakumari, while the second and third day events will be held at Sanguthurai beach on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
Tourism Minister S. Rajesh Kumar, who inaugurated the festival said, “Tamil Nadu is a State blessed with nature and tradition. Sky-high mountains, silver-white waterfalls, lush forests, beautiful beaches and majestic temples that have stood the test of time and eye-catching sculptures are all found here. The beautiful rural life and unchanging culture of Tamil Nadu are the unique symbols of our State. Due to this we organise various festivals like summer festival, Saaral festival and kite festival on behalf of the Tourism department.”
