Three-day food processing expo gets under way in Chennai
The 16th edition of Foodpro 2026, an exhibition focused on food processing and packaging technology, has commenced in Chennai. The event features over 250 exhibitors and aims to highlight advancements in sustainability and food safety.

The 16 th edition of Foodpro 2026, organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Southern Region, opened at the Chennai Trade Centre on Friday.
The three-day exhibition, being held from August 7 to 9, features more than 250 exhibitors. The organisers expect more than 25,000 business and trade visitors. The exhibition showcases technologies and products related to food processing, packaging, cold chain, and allied sectors. It also includes conferences, meetings, live demonstrations, and product launches.
B. Thiagarajan, chairman, CII Foodpro 2026, and managing director, Blue Star India, said technological advancement, changing consumer preferences, food safety, and sustainability were driving changes in the food-processing sector.
