A three-day consecration ceremony for a new dwajasthambam (flagstaff) will be held at the Sri Kamakshi Sametha Siddhavateswara Swamy temple at Siddavatam in Kadapa district from August 29-31. The temple, adopted by the Srisailam Devasthanam, is being developed in phases, officials said.
The rituals will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday with Ganapati puja , followed by Punyahavachanam , Yagasala entry and Mandapaaradhana . Agni Pratishthapana, Ankuraropana and Dhwajanga homams will be performed in the evening.
On August 30, Vedic recitations, Navagraha japas, Shiva Panchakshari japa and special homams will be conducted.
