Three children questioned over ballast placed on railway track in Coimbatore

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) identified and questioned three children in connection with the placing of railway ballast on the track between Karamadai and Coimbatore North railway stations on August 26.
Based on CCTV camera footage, the RPF traced three children and recorded their statements on September 8. According to the statements, the children — aged 10, 12 and 13 — had gone to a stream near Brindavan School, Cheran Nagar, to fish. Upon finding that the stream had little water, they returned to the railway track and placed ballast on both sides of the track over a stretch of about 50 metres.
