Three arrested over alleged TikTok-linked gang-rape, robbery cases

ARREST\ILLUSTRATION Detectives are holding three suspects in connection with several reported cases of sexual assault and robbery in which women were allegedly lured through TikTok before being attacked.
The suspects were arrested in the Benedicta area of Ruai following intelligence-led investigations and a forensic trail that detectives said may link them to incidents reported in Buruburu, Embakasi and Ruai.
Investigators allege that the suspects used an anonymous TikTok account to contact women and arrange physical meetings.
According to detectives, some of the women agreed to meet people they had interacted with online before allegedly being taken to secluded or abandoned areas.
The encounters allegedly turned into sexual assaults and robberies, with investigators reporting that some victims were robbed of money, mobile phones and other personal belongings.
In some cases, detectives said the victims were allegedly forced to transfer money through M-Pesa to accounts associated with the suspects.
