Three men have been arrested for stabbing and attempting to murder a 20-year-old loadman, following a dispute involving his friend, in Washermenpet.
The three persons arrested are Venkat, 23, and Appu, 23, of Washermenpet; and Karthik, 32, of Park Town.
The victim has been identified as Vijay of Portuguese Church Street in Washermenpet. According to the police, when his friend Nithish visited a Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board tenement on Old Jail Road on Sunday night, a few men, including Karthik and Appu, allegedly questioned him about his presence, assaulted him, and sent him away.
