Thoothukudi District police held an awareness and consultative meeting on drug prevention for school and college teachers here on Monday, under the leadership of District Superintendent of Police (SP) R. Shiva Prasad.
Addressing the meeting, Mr. Prasad advised the teachers and professors to continuously create awareness among school and college students about the harmful effects of drug use and measures to prevent it.
He also asked them to advise students to strictly follow discipline, including wearing proper uniforms and maintaining a neat hairstyle while attending educational institutions. He added that the students should also be advised to avoid wearing colourful threads that indicate caste identities.
