Thirumavalavan seeks CEC Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation

VCK president and Lok Sabha MP Thol. Thirumavalavan has urged President Droupadi Murmu to intervene and seek the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over concerns raised about the Election Commission’s functioning during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

In a letter to the President on Wednesday, Mr. Thirumavalavan cited The Indian Express ’s investigation, which reported that Election Commissioners Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi had recorded objections on 14 occasions over the past 10 months to decisions of the poll panel.
