Why it matters
High-level athlete interviews provide insight into the psychological and tactical demands of elite professional sports.
Anthony Gordon admitted he wasn't at his best on Tuesday night as Barcelona slumped to a 4-2 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
The winger started the game but struggled to make much impact as an attacking force and was beaten by Lucas Hernandez for PSG's second goal.
Speaking afterwards, Gordon told TNT Sports he can do much better: "Ultimately, I didn't think my performance was great tonight.
"I've got a lot of individual work to do because on these nights, I really want to perform and I don't think tonight I was at my best.
"I think they deserved it in the end. I feel like they were the better team. They had better moments with more quality and I feel like athletically they were able to sustain the pressure, the intensity for longer than we were."
