The Chief of the State Police categorically rejected claims that appeared on social media suggesting that police officers allegedly tried to 'cover up' for their colleague, including intentionally delaying the alcohol examination.
"I trust the leadership of the Kurzeme region and the precinct - no one there attempted to cover anything up," Ruks stated. According to him, it was the State Police that conducted the initial procedural actions and detained the officer.
Ruks did not elaborate on the reasons for the conflict.
