'The Odyssey' sets major box office record, toppling a Marvel hit

Christopher Nolan's film "The Odyssey" has broken box office records, becoming the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time with $1.352 billion globally, surpassing "Deadpool & Wolverine." It is only the third R-rated film to cross the $1 billion mark worldwide, and Nolan's most successful film to date.
Why it matters
This achievement demonstrates the significant commercial potential of R-rated films, especially those with critical acclaim and a strong director, challenging traditional box office expectations. It also solidifies Christopher Nolan's status as a major draw capable of delivering massive hits outside of established franchises.
