Steam hardware survey data for September 2026 shows a significant surge in the popularity of the NVIDIA RTX 5070 graphics card and a shift toward 32GB of RAM as the new standard for gaming PCs. Additionally, AMD processors continue to gain market share against Intel.

Despite memory shortages and rising prices, Steam users keep upgrading their PCs. The number of configurations with NVIDIA RTX 5070 and 32 GB of RAM is growing rapidly.In September, the RTX 5070 became the most popular graphics card with a 6.15% share and a fairly rapid 2.38% growth in Steam statistics. It surpassed the RTX 5060 and RTX 5060 Ti with shares of 4.4% (+1.24%) and 4.06% (+1.51%), respectively.AMD Radeon's success remains modest: among discrete graphics cards, the most widespread is the RX 9070 XT (1.42%; -0.04%). Meanwhile, AMD processors are steadily gaining share, rising from 45.52% to 47.41%, while Intel's share fell from 54.47% to 52.59%.32GB is gradually becoming the new norm for gaming PCs. 42.22% of users own systems with this much RAM.
