The next Kratos God of War game will follow and connect to Laufey, says Cory Barlog

Cory Barlog of Santa Monica Studio confirmed that the upcoming God of War game, titled 'Laufey,' will expand upon the character Faye and connect to the broader series narrative. The game is scheduled for release in February 2027 and will not receive a PC port.
Why it matters
This announcement clarifies the creative direction of a major gaming franchise and confirms Sony's strategic shift regarding PC releases for its non-live-service titles.
"Faye is still part of the larger tapestry of what we truly really want to explore, all of these different characters in there."
Talking at a panel at San Diego Comic-Con, Barlog revealed that "everything" the team at Santa Monica was doing in the Faye game will "set up and expand what comes next".
"Everything we are doing in the Faye game is a continuation of what came before and to set up and expand what comes next," he explained (thanks, IGN ).
"Phranque has been around since the beginning. It's interesting to see how to build this world out. Everything in the game is setting up for something so amazing."
