The most expensive diesel and petrol prices in the West

Rising fuel prices in the UK are placing significant financial strain on businesses and charities, with diesel and petrol costs increasing by over 30% in seven months. The surge is attributed to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, forcing organizations like the Freewheelers charity to dip into reserves to maintain operations.

Alex Wood, from charity Freewheelers which delivers medical supplies, said it has had to dip into reserves to keep afloat. Somerset-based Berry's Coaches has called on the government to freeze fuel duty next year after their fuel costs increased by half since the Middle East conflict began.
