The MacBook Air M5 is $200 off for the first time in months

Amazon has discounted the 2026 MacBook Air with the M5 chip by $200 as part of its October Prime Day event. The price reduction applies to both the 13-inch and 15-inch models, making the hardware more competitive against lower-end alternatives.
Why it matters
Consumer electronics pricing fluctuations impact purchasing decisions for professionals and students relying on high-performance hardware.

Usually $1,299, the 13-inch MacBook Air with the M5 chip and 512GB of storage is on sale for $1,099 at Amazon . That’s a more palatable price for a machine that’s significantly faster than Apple’s $699 MacBook Neo . The 15-inch version, also with 512GB of storage, is $1,299 at Amazon (was $1,499). In addition to the larger screen, it has two additional speakers, for a total of six, and two additional GPU cores for better overall graphical performance.
