A. Anantharaman, who retired as the Chief Personnel Manager of The Hindu , died on Sunday (September 6, 2026).
Mr. Anantharaman headed the personnel department of The Hindu when he joined in 1981 and served the organisation for more than 15 years. Previously, he had worked as the Personnel Manager in Enfield India.
The nonagenarian was an expert in personnel management and labour studies and served as a guest faculty member at Madras University. He was also a guest lecturer at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore, the Madras School of Social Work and other educational institutions in the State.
