Earlier, the villagers staged a novel protest by lighting candles to draw the attention of the authorities to their plight. After the publication of the news article titled ‘ Adivasi hamlet protests three months of darkness, demands accountability’, the issue gained immediate attention of the local authorities.
Taking cognisance of the report, the APEPDCL officials conducted a field inspection at the village.
Meanwhile, the Rolugunta Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO) intervened, directing the panchayat secretary to ensure the immediate restoration of power lines.
