The entire leadership of 'Unity' resigns

The entire leadership board of Latvia's 'New Unity' party has resigned following poor results in the recent parliamentary elections. The party plans to use the upcoming congress to rethink its communication strategy and incorporate feedback from younger members.
Why it matters
This mass resignation signals a significant shift in the Latvian political landscape as the country navigates complex coalition negotiations.
This was announced on social media by the chairwoman of the 'New Unity' (Jaunā Vienotība) board, member of the 'Unity' party board, Evika Silinā.
According to her, the results of the parliamentary elections served as a kind of 'yellow card' for the party — a serious warning from voters that requires a rethinking of previous decisions and approaches to communication with society.
Silinā acknowledged the need for change, emphasizing that the party should listen more attentively to the people, engage in direct dialogue with them more often, and speak in a more understandable language.
Before the congress scheduled for November 28, special attention is planned to be given to the opinions of the youth and new party members. Their proposals should help determine the directions for further transformations.
